Current Alarms
The Alarm List can be called for the complete managed network, for a single NE or FO, or for a single severity (including cleared but not acknowledged). The current alarms frame shows the alarms filtered accordingly.
The list is updated dynamically as new alarms are registered, unless the Freeze List button has been activated.
The list can be sorted alphabetically in ascending or descending order for each column by clicking on the column header.
A double click on any entry in the list calls the HW View of the corresponding NE.
The list contains the following fields:

NE
The name of the NE, given in the NEM Configurator.
Alarm Id
The format is “NE name:index”. The index is incremented for each new alarm in the NE, normally providing a unique identification. The index is reset to 1 if the NE is deleted and recreated.
Alarm On Time
The date and time when FOXMAN‑UN received the alarm. This can be later than the actual occurrence in the NE. The occurrence time is also recorded and can be seen in the Alarm Properties.
The default date and time format is yyyy/MM/dd - HH:mm:ss. The date and time format can be set in the “$NEM_HOME/etc/NMS.properties” file.
Alarm Off Time
The date and time when FOXMAN‑UN received the alarm cleared message. Only applicable when calling the list for cleared and unacknowledged alarms from the Alarm Summary
Localization
The unit, its card slot and the layer-subunit or port identification.
An asterisk preceding the localization indicates the presence of a comment which can be viewed and modified in the Alarm Properties.
Fault Cause
A text describing the type of alarm. The layer-subunit identification given in the localization columns also has to be considered.
The fault cause text can be modified by the user via the Alarm Customisation
Severity
The name of the alarm Severity. In addition the background of the text line for the alarm assumes the color assigned to its severity.
Status
Shows “Outstanding” for a currently active alarm or “Cleared” for an inactive, but not yet acknowledged alarm. When a cleared alarm is acknowledged, it is moved to the Alarm List History. The history is accessible from the NEM Network Browser only.
Ack Status
The Acknowledgment Status shows whether an alarm has been observed and dealt with by a FOXMAN‑UN user. It can have the values Not Ack'd (not acknowledged) or Ack'd (acknowledged). A status “Not Ack'd” causes the relevant symbol on a map and the relevant severity counter in the Alarm Summary to flash, advertising that there is a new alarm to be dealt with.
NE Location
The location of the NE, as entered as part of the NE’s system configuration, where available.
Type
The type of alarm.
Work Instructions
When entered in the Alarm Customisation dialog work instructions are shown here.
Ack’d By
For acknowledged alarms the user name that acknowledged the alarm is shown here.
