Circuit Service
This tab in the Teleprotection UI provides a list of circuits used for end-to-end services between two physical ports, filter options, a search utility, and a “+ Create” command button that starts a wizard for creating a new circuit service.
The creation of circuits with teleprotection services is only supported for specific teleprotection units.
The wizard is essentially the same as for Circuit Services using a Circuit Emulation Service (see also the
Circuit Service wizard for CES) and provides 4 basic steps,
• step 1 “General” to:
− define Name and Layer Rate;
• step 2 “Endpoints” to:
− define Initiator and Terminator NEs,
− define appropriate ports on both Initiator and Terminator NEs,
− define Channels for the circuit;
• step 3 “Teleprotection Service” to:
− select an appropriate teleprotection service from a list of existing teleprotection services;
• step 4 “Summary” to:
− show details of the circuit service to be created and deploy the service to the network.
A circuit has a cross connection from the physical port on each of the two end points of the service. For creation, it requires an existing, suitable
Teleprotection Service. If, during Circuit Service creation, step 3, there is no suitable
Teleprotection Service available, the service cannot be created. By showing all existing
Teleprotection Services available, including the unsuitable ones, and clicking on the (i) icon for the respective entry, the reason for its unsuitability is shown in the “Reason” entry.
A circuit selected in the list is shown on the map.
