Introduction
Service Supervision provides Service Level Management by monitoring services and presents service operational state and fault state. In addition, it generates reports for services that present availability over time. Any managed object which is capable of generating alarms can be monitored.
End-to-End Service Definition
The following services or “circuits” in the FOX61x can be monitored and their status reports can be generated:
• MPLS-TP Services and service components (System Services - see notes 1 and 2 below):
− VPLS services,
− VPWS services,
− Pseudo Wires,
− Tunnels,
− Links.
• Legacy Services and service components (Advanced Services - see note 3 below):
− Ethernet over PDH data services,
− E&M voice services,
− X.21,
− RS232,
− E1,
− Ethernet over SDH (EoS) data services (including EoS of FOX51x).
Please note:
• MPLS-TP services (managed in ENP) are enabled in Service Supervision via the context menu of a selected service by choosing “Supervision - Enable”, upon which they appear as System Services in Service Supervision.
