Ethernet Traffic Protection Maps
This section provides information regarding the FOXMAN‑UN topology graphical displays that allow identifying the network protection topologies and their components, such as:
Rapid Spanning Tree:
current tree structure,
spanning tree instance(s),
VLAN associations,
node and port statuses.
The map can be organized into a set of sub-maps that allow a network to be represented from different groupings or hierarchical levels.
*
Please note:
The Ethernet traffic protection maps are applicable only for managed FOX61x NEs running on system release R1 Embedded Software (ESW).
For FOX61x R2, R3, R14, and R15 NEs, the limitations below apply:
There is no service level agreement provided covering the use of L2 VLAN bridging feature.
The ERPS protocol cannot be enabled.
The Spanning Tree on the control unit uplink ports are used exclusively for the IEEE1588 (PTP) and management applications.
The Spanning Tree can be configured on service units after a warning confirmation. The warnings emphasize that the switching protocol features should not be used together with MPLS-TP in the network.
For NEs of FOX61x R16A and following system releases, the ERPS functionality is available on the NE but Ethernet Traffic Protection Maps cannot be used with these NEs due to discontinued support in FOXMAN‑UN.
Detailed information regarding provisioning using the FOXCST is available in the following document:
