Rename
Purpose
The NE and FO default symbol name is the name given upon creation of the object (the configured name), a Group symbols default name is “Group” plus the time stamp of its creation, and System symbols carry the name of the workstation that contains the FOXMAN‑UN core as default name. These default symbol names can be replaced with a different one using the “Rename” function. This renaming operates on a per map basis. If the same NE is used on several maps, it can carry a different name on each one.
NEs, FOs, and System symbols retain their configured names. If the modified map name is removed (deleted in the Name field), they again show the configured name. A group symbol does not have a configured name. It does not show a name any more if its default name is removed.

Informational content
The dialog shows the entry made via the Rename function. If the Name field is empty for an NE, FO or System symbol, then the default name is active.
